Ogawa | 6mm | Dry Treated | 8.0m

from £20.00

Ogawa rope has been made in Japan since the 1930s. It is used widely by Shibari professionals internationally. The rope has become a community favourite due to its loose lay and fast break-in time. It is soft and fast in the hands allowing for a smooth and considered tying experience. I have used this rope for the entirety of my professional career and have developed a way of treating it that allows it to feel light and malleable, but also strong and conditioned.

The rope's characteristic loose lay allows for compressed knots and dense frictions. These ropes do require care and maintenance for the best experience.  It is important to hang these ropes as often as possible to allow for them to rebalance. The ropes break in after 10-15 sessions, at this point, it is advised to re-flame any remaining loose fibres. Any soot can be removed with a microfiber cloth to help retain the brightness in the colour. These ropes are 100% natural jute.
